China Dota 2 Supermajor Results
Table of Contents
The last Major of the season is over, which means we are even closer to the biggest event of the Dota 2 world — The International. But there’s still a month to wait and spend your nerves while watching open qualifiers. Or you’ll have to wait calmly (and somewhat boredly) if your favorite team is one that already secured their invitation.
Supermajor Results
Despite high hopes, we didn’t see any “noname” teams getting top places (sorry, but the editor is too fond of the “gaming world Cinderella” trope). The winning team could gain so many Dota 2 Pro circuit points that they would receive an invitation to the International even if they had zero points before.
However, some phenomenal Dota-ing didn’t happen. Tier-1 world-famous teams played well and took prize places, Tier-2 teams still showed some good Dota but didn’t manage to pull off a miracle. $1,500,000 and 2,250 DPC points were at stake.
Here’s a list of teams with their prize money and DPC points earned.
-
Team Liquid – $555,000 and 1,125 DPC points
-
Virtus.Pro – $225,000 and 675 DPC points
-
PSG.LGD – $150,000 and 337 DPC points
-
Team Secret – $120,000 and 112 DPC points
5-6. OpTic Gaming, Vici Gaming – $90,000
7-8. TNC Pro Team, Newbee – $60,000
9-12. Evil Geniuses, VGJ.Storm, Mineski, VGJ.Thunder – $22,500
13-16. Team Spirit, Infamous, Natus Vincere, The Final Tribe – $15,000
It’s worth noting that Supermajor is the first victorious Major for Team Liquid, the winners of the International 2017. It seems like when Liquid are going for the victory, they dream big. Meanwhile, there’s only 6 days left for all the teams to prepare for the International Open Qualifiers. And what about you? Are you ready for the tough battles that are about to take place?
Dota 2 Pro Circuit Points
Here is a list of the first eight teams in the DPC points list. According to the Dota 2 Pro Circuit rules, they have already earned their direct invites to the International. The teams ranking from nine and down still have a chance to get to the competition by either participating in the regional qualifiers for higher-tier crews or by fighting through the open qualifiers against dozens of other beginner crews.
